HOUSTON – Chris Carmona, native Houstonian, local attorney and small business operator, filed paperwork to be on the Republican ballot for House District 148 on Monday afternoon.
“Texas faces many challenges when it comes to funding education and providing a pro-growth economic environment; challenges when it comes to budgeting and job creation; challenges when it comes to government transparency and property taxes,” said Carmona. “My district deserves more than self interested politicians who are afraid to lead, they only serve the same old political insider groups in Austin and do not serve the community that we call home. I’m ready to fight for my district. I’m ready for the slings and arrows of an entrenched incumbent who is out of answers and devoid of solutions.”
House District 148 rests entirely in Harris County and threads together many diverse neighborhoods, such as the Heights, Spring Branch, Timbergrove Manor, parts of Second Ward, Near Northside, and Lindale Park.
“District 148 is my home. This is a great place to live and spend time with my daughters. There is a great heritage that can be seen in any of the local neighborhoods here. I want to inspire and empower our communities to be havens of opportunity and involvement,” said Carmona. “Answers can be found in our people; not every answer comes from politicians in Austin. The objective is to work with the people, not against them.”
